Your symptoms.

Chiropractic is a regulated primary healthcare profession. Chiropractors are trained to diagnose, treat and can help with:

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common type of arthritis in the UK, 50% of people over the age of 65 will have some changes. The most common symptoms are:

  • Joint aches
  • Stiffness
  • Decreased flexibility
  • Creaking or grinding

It is most common in the knees, hips and hands but can occur in any joint including those in the spine. The cartilage in the joints thins, it can become inflamed and painful and the body may respond by adding extra little bony growths called osteophtyes.

We used to think OA was purely a result of wear and tear but we now know that it is normal for us to have some wear and tear in our joints and it is when they become inflamed that they become painful.

As Chiropractors we are able to help diagnose, manage and treat the pain and dysfunction associated with arthritis by helping to keep you mobile and well oiled. We will also help you look at diet and lifestyle changes that can help keep the symptoms at bay.

Rheumatoid and
Inflammatory Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic condition characterized by a throbbing or achy pain that is worse in the mornings and eases throughout the day. It commonly occurs in the fingers first.

Unlike OA it occurs in both hands, hips, knees etc symmetrically. It is often hereditary. We are trained to recognise the signs of rheumatoid and inflammatory arthritis and help you get the testing and care you need.
